Jean knew when her eyes locked with those of a smooshy-faced, little dog who sat inside a kennel at the Humane Society that it was love. He stole her heart and she captured the fun and adventure with her often mischievous and always adorable rescue pug named Zuggy. The growing collection of easy-rhymers entertain kids and warm the hearts of dog lovers of all ages.
In capturing these wonderful memories, Jean realized how much of our human legacy is lost within a single generation. Inspired, she created Blessed to be Me and Blessed to be Your Dog to celebrate the stories of You. The self guided journals provide a simple way to tune out the chaos and tune in to your awesome life stories. Better than a DNA test, this book can be a treasured legacy for future generations. It also offers encouragement on the journey ahead with encouraging quotes, coloring pages and plenty of space to doodle and dream.
An award-winning writer, speaker, and dog-fan, Jean encourages others to appreciate the little things in life. She offers workshops, presentations, and enjoys visiting schools (in person and on-line) to offer learning opportunities, inspiration, and support.
Jean is an avid proponent of adoption for all dogs: pure breeds, mixed breeds, young or senior (her preference) who need a forever home. Her favorite breed is Rescued. She finds hope and joy in both her work at the Humane Society in Colorado Springs and in the lives of her adopted vintage puppies. Jean and her husband often joke that although they pay the mortgage, the dogs really own the house!
