Jean knew when her eyes locked with those of a smooshy-faced, little dog who sat inside a kennel at the Humane Society that it was love. In collecting these wonderful memories, Jean realized how much of our human legacy is lost within a single generation. Inspired, she created Blessed to be Me and Blessed to be Your Dog to celebrate the stories of You. Jean is a multi-award winning author. She has been both traditionally and self-published. She encourages others to appreciate the little things in life and offers workshops and presentations on various topics. She is a certified pet loss grief coach and has a special program focused on how to help ourselves and others grieve the loss of a beloved pet. 

Jean is an avid proponent for adoption of all dogs: pure or mixed breeds, big or small, young or senior (her preference) who need a forever home. She finds hope and joy in both her work at the local Humane Society and in the lives of her adopted vintage puppies. Jean and her husband often joke that although they pay the mortgage of their home in Colorado, it's really the dogs' house!
